Growing into Greatness: Books that Mentor

FINANCIAL COACH

Books are great mentors. Recently, I started reading Rachel Rodgers, We Should All Be Millionaires on a flight to Washington, DC and was so captivated that I was disappointed when the airplane started the descent and I had to pause reading.  Financial literacy isn’t taught in most schools, although the pendulum is swinging in the right direction. Rachel’s book is for you if you are looking to enlarge your territory. My favorite takeaways:

  • A Million Dollar Decision is one that frees up mental space and allows you to feel strong, secure and free.

  • Surround yourself with a group of people who believe in you, want more for you, and inspire you to go get it.

  • An environmental detox can take 10,000 pounds of emotional weight off your shoulders.

  • Join communities that allow you to be you.  Once you find such a community, be sure to invest your time in building real relationships with fellow members.

  • Behave like the million dollar badass you dream of becoming; not necessarily spend like her…at least not yet.

  • Speak to yourself like you love, admire and respect yourself.

  • Believe in yourself: What’s a skill you’ve got that is so desirable, so helpful, so life-changing that people would practically sprint across the room to open their wallets and hire you?

  • Commit to one thing. Roll with it for a while. Give it a chance to blossom into a wealth-building empire.

  • If you are genuinely concerned with helping the people who need you the most, the best way to do this is to become wealthy.
