My name is Dionne Perry and I recently wrote Credit-Lit. Credit-Lit is for teens who do not yet know how to navigate the world of credit but will have a need for it sooner rather than later. It was very important for me to write Credit-Lit, I want to impart to young people early the importance of having and maintaining a good credit score. I want to help young people avoid some pitfalls that many adults fall into by providing this information in easily digestible format. Credit scores impact every financial decision. Therefore, it’s important for children of all ages to understand the positive and negative impacts regarding credit scores.

Describe your writing process.

My writing process was very free flow.  I’ve wanted to write this book for the last 20 years but never had the time to finish the project until the pandemic occurred.

Share a quote from your book or your favorite black history quote.

Your credit scores are the most important numbers in your LIFE more important than your date of birth, graduation date or your wedding date,

What words of advice do you have for aspiring authors.

My advice for inspiring authors is to find the time to complete your project; it’s worth it.

Who is your favorite black author?

My favorite black author is Toni Morrison.

What is next on your journey and how can we support your book?

Next on my Journey is educating young adults on the credit process.  I would love for every family to have a copy of Credit-Lit in their homes to share with their kids.

Credit-Lit. Credit-Lit can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes and Noble.
