From Six Figures to Food Stamps to Six Figures is a book about resilience, recovery and relatability. It chronicles my journey from having a six figure income to finding myself needing federal resources in the midst of the 2008 recession. It gives practical tips and deals with financial, spiritual and emotional security. You will laugh, cry and celebrate victory over all situations.

Why was it important for you to write this story?

It's a story of resilience and triumph during a storm. It was critical that I write this book to encourage and remind others that nothing they desire is out of their reach.

Describe your writing process or writing schedule.

I seem to be inspired at 3am when everyone is asleep and my thoughts are clear.

Who is your favorite black author and how has that author inspired your writing journey?

I enjoy Maya Angelou and she inspired me to share my voice and not let anything silence it.

What words of advice do you have for aspiring authors?

Write and keep writing. Never give up.

What has been the most challenging part of the writing or publishing journey?

Determining the best way to get it published and knowing that others needed it.

What is next on your journey and how can we support your book?

Next on my journey is my continued efforts to promote and share my book. I am also planning to publish 2 additional books.
